Considering a Pool?

So, you’ve decided to put in a pool? This is a great decision, but it’s going to involve lots of other little decisions along the way, such as which pool company to use, the type of pool you want, and more. And, as you make these and other decisions, it’s important to ensure that you’re using logic, not emotion, to decide what to do.

Timing

Often, people want their pool to be put in as quickly as possible, especially as the summer months approach. However, this isn’t always possible. Many pool companies get booked well in advance, especially the best ones. This might mean that the company you really want to put in your pool can’t do it until much later.

In this situation, people are often tempted to just go with the company that can put in their pool the fastest. But, fast doesn’t always mean better. After all, what does it say about a company if it doesn’t have a lot of work booked at the busiest time of the year?

Always choose your pool company based not on when or how quickly they can do the work, which is an emotion-based decision, but on the quality of the work they can do, a logic-based decision.

Extras

All those fancy extras and upsells, like diving boards and slides, might seem great, and your kids might beg for them.

But, be logical. How often will you really use these items? Are they worth the cost and the extra upkeep? If they are, that’s fine, but if you’re just making the decision out of excitement or to make your kids happy, you might want to rethink it.

Cost

Finally, while you might want to save money on your pool construction, the cheapest solution isn’t always the best one. There’s certainly nothing wrong with considering cost in the equation, but don’t make it the main, determining factor. Look at the whole big, logic-based picture, such as company reputation and references, to choose the right pool contractor for the job.

Remember, you can’t always trust just your heart. You have to use your mind as well to arrive at the right, most logical decisions related to your pool.
