Cool Water Features for Your Pool

Whether you’re hoping to install a pool or you already have one and would like an upgrade, water features are a wonderful choice. These fun features can range greatly in terms of what they look like, how they work, and how much they cost to operate. The key is just to explore different options to find the one or ones that work best for your pool.

Fountains

Fountains are one of the most common and popular water features that money can buy. You can choose from spillover fountains, floating fountains, and more. A recent trend is to incorporate fiber-optic lights into fountain designs. That way, they look really cool and beautiful at night. They’re perfect if you prefer to take your dips in the evening hours!

Waterfalls

If you want something less elaborate than a fountain but equally beautiful, go for a natural-looking waterfall feature. Many people even incorporate rocks into the design in order to make them look even more rustic. Of course, you could also go for a more industrial style, which is particularly good for drowning out outside noises and making your pool more peaceful.

Rain Curtains

For a really neat, upscale effect, consider a rain curtain. This water sheet deposits a “curtain” of water right into your pool. It’s really pretty to look at, as well as fun to stand under or behind. You can mount your water curtain on the pool wall or, for an even more elaborate design, on a carefully-placed decorative overhang.

Spillways

Spillways are a less common water feature. So, if you want something really unique that will make your pool stand out, they’re an excellent choice. They’re most commonly executed by placing columns around the pool with water spilling from each column.

Bubblers

For a water feature that’s not immediately noticeable but that still makes a big impression, try bubblers. This water feature involves placing small jets in the more shallow parts of your pool. The result is gurgling, bubbling water that’s fun to splash or relax in.
