Great Game Ideas for Your Pool

A swimming pool makes for a great addition to any home. It provides you and your family with something to do on any warm day, and it’s the perfect spot for hosting gatherings and parties. However, just swimming, floating, and splashing can start to grow dull after a while. That’s why it’s smart to invest in some fun equipment and learn a few pool games. Once you do, you’ll never be bored in your pool again!

Toss Ten

One really fun pool game is also incredibly simple. All you need to play it is a ball! Get a ball that has some good bounce, such as a lightweight rubber or plastic ball. From there, take turns bunting it to the person or persons you’re playing with, much like you would a volleyball.

The goal is for the ball to never hit the water, which is harder than you might think. Also, at each bunt or hit, the person is supposed to count out loud. For example, the person serving the ball says “one” while the next player to bunt the ball says “two” and so on. Try and get to ten at first. It will take longer than you might think! But, of course, you can always “up” your number goal.

This easy little game is a surefire way to have a blast.

Water Basketball

Another fun ball game you can play is water basketball! All you need is a net near your pool and a basketball. While some people will actually have stationary basketball goals placed by their pools, you can also buy the floating kind. This makes the game easier for kids and less adept grown-ups too.

Swimming Rings

Everyone has seen the little rings that you throw to the bottom of the pool and then dive to collect. But, swimming rings, sometimes called swim-through rings, are different. These are big hoops that are made to stay underwater and which people can swim through! Try getting a few rings and setting up a pool obstacle course or having a swimming race where swimming through the hoops is required,

As you can see, there are all kinds of ways to have a blast in your swimming pool this summer. Try these, and always be on the lookout for new games and activities as well. Anything you can do to enjoy your pool more is great!
