How to Prepare for the Perfect Pool Party
One of the very best things about owning a pool is that it provides easy entertainment. After all, who doesn’t love a good pool party? If you’re planning such a party, or if you’d like to, be sure to follow these perfect party-planning tips.
Tip #1: Prepare Your Pool
Having a pool party means that a lot of extra bodies are going to be in your pool. As such, you want to set it up for success. Check the water chemistry before the party, and balance your pool chemicals as needed. And, for an extra dose of safety, go ahead and shock your pool once the party is over. It can’t hurt, but it may just keep any post-party problems at bay.
Tip #2: Have A Designated Lifeguard
Pool parties are fun, but remember, safety first! This old adage is important to follow for any pool party, but especially one where kids will be in attendance.
In order to ensure safety for everyone, designate someone to be the “lifeguard” on duty. This person should be a strong swimmer and should avoid alcohol. He or she should also pay careful attention to everyone in the pool just in case.
And, if you want to ensure everyone gets to enjoy the party and no one has to be on guard the whole time, consider appointing lifeguard shifts. No matter how you set it up, make sure that no one is ever in the pool completely alone or unattended just in case.
Tip #3: Plan For Fun
Finally, know that, as much fun as a pool is, it can get boring quickly if all you’re offering is a body of water. To stretch the fun for as long as you want, plan ahead. Bust out the best pool floats, some water-friendly games, and plan an activity or two. That way, everyone is sure to have a great time and appreciate your pool for the wonderful feature it is!
A pool party is an excellent way to bring people together. But, it can be made even greater just by following these simple but effective tips.
