Winter - The Perfect Time to Buy a Pool

So, you’ve decided you want to buy a swimming pool! That’s incredibly exciting, but it also brings up a lot of questions, such as when you want to have the pool installed. If you’re like most people, you may be thinking of getting the job done in the early spring months. However, winter is an even better choice! Sure, a pool may be far from your mind as you prepare for (or recover from) the holidays and as the temps drop lower and lower, but there are actually many reasons to install a pool while it’s still cold out.

It’s Often Cheaper

As mentioned, spring tends to be a popular time for swimming pool installation, but that doesn’t always work in your favor. A “popular” time means a busy time, which can make it harder to find a swimming pool company with the availability you need. Plus, when pools are in high demand, the prices often rise, which means you could pay more for your pool if you wait until spring to install it. In the winter, you’re more likely to easily book a great company and to pay less in the process. With that in mind, why wouldn’t you have your pool installed before the busy season?

It Gives Your Yard Some Recovery Time

Pool installation is tough on your yard. After your pool is first put in, you can expect to have some patches of dead grass, as well as areas that need to be landscaped and cared for. If your pool gets installed in the winter, you’ll have several months for nature to help your lawn recover. Plus, you’ll have time to call in a landscaping crew if you prefer. The result is that your yard and your pool will look a lot better when it’s finally time to swim. You won’t have to be embarrassed to invite guests over, and you can truly enjoy your pool . . . which is the whole reason you bought it in the first place!

As you can see, there are some definite upsides to installing your pool during the winter months. Yes, you may have to stare at it longingly for a while before you can actually use it, but all that waiting will pay off big time come summer!
